I see very little of clip LED's and bargraphs on this audio group.
I would have thought a clip LED was vital if your speakers arent to suffer. A bargraph top LED can also act as a clip LED. Just finished a new design which uses a PIC microcontroller to read the output signal and convert it to a bargraph display. The PIC has A2D inputs so I can compare the output signal to the supply rail to get the correct ratio for the LED outputs. My clip LEd circuit uses a simple comparator taht turns on the LED as the output voltage approaches the rail, works a treat and with very few components. A bargraph brings the amp to life.
