Hi i wish to start a thread for people to post information about there products they have bought from the chinese sellers on eBay.
The market is obviously saturated with thousands of products, and it seems very hard to find the golden jems amongst them. So who has had success with EL34 Valve Kits, Those 'Big DAC's', tiny Gainclone chip amps or Tripath TA2020. A scoring system out of 10 would really help, perhaps 1) Sound 2) Price 3) Build 4) Seller 5) Potential (with mods) 6) Overall |

People have reported the NAP140 clones sound quite good. A guy on Pinkfishmedia build one to original Naim specs and parts. He rates it above the SKA GB150.

I recommend nothing. Do not support these people stealing commercial designs and DIY designs and making a profit on it - often double and triple profit by selling fake parts.

I find your post quite offensive. So you assume "chinese offerings [SIC]" automatically involves some kind of theft? Why don't you come out of your cave and have a look at how many are original designs or involve no IP theft of any kind?

Well what can I say, look for yourself. There are various gainclones where the LM3886's look fake, the capacitors look fake, and indeed people here have bought them and found the parts ARE fake. There's also much ripping off on there, for example Musical Fidelity XA50 cloning, Naim cloning, Jan Dupont's LYNX amp, Leach amp's, etc...
China is the #1 origin of fake components - why risk it ? This is nothing to do with racism etc... it is just plain fact. |

You are absolutely ignorant. Please look in the dictionary for words like "racism", "discrimination", and "prejudice" to see exactly how your statements are racist. Honestly, you paint ALL Chinese Ebay sellers with a broad swath and then say that is not racist? Use a ******* dictionary!

After reading this thread I had to check something out......
My system worsened recently when I changed a load of caps, the binding posts and rca's, I thought it must be the caps so I changed them back but no difference. I've been confused up until half an hour ago when I thought 'what if'????? Low and behold the robbing chinese b...... The CMC 'pure copper silver plated' bindings are nothing more than a cheap soft alloy and the rca's are brass. They're not even CNC'd, just bloody cast (and a crap cast at that) I was sceptical about the purchase and I should have been... No more chinese offerings for me! |

Just buy and see with your eyes... No R&D from there, only C&P (copy & paste), nothing more. I was stolen some time ago... Guess what: my pre-amp cloned by some HK sellers... My 2 cents |
