Here is an Ikea TV Stand that I modified to use as an amplifier stand. I've got some big, hot amps that will not fit on the first shelf of a 2 shelf unit. But most units with 2 shelves will be too weak to hold a few hundred pounds.
So here is the initial unit. ![]() And here is the modded unit. ![]() i took the ba**ard apart and added a few cast iron pipes; rods and dowels. All in all worked out great. For details see below. My Web Link
