I am highly interested on additional books regarded amplifier technologies, also in other languages than English and German. I think, in french, japanese, spain and russian there are also interest books. With today's software (e. g. Finereader) a translate isn't difficult through Googles language tools.

Here interesting books about ground loops (incl. different book read samples)
The Ultimate Live Sound Operator's ... - Google Books
The sound reinforcement handbook - Google Books
Producing great sound for digital video - Google Books
Audio power amplifier design handbook - Google Books
Concert sound and lighting systems - Google Books

How about this for SMPS

switch mode power supply - Google Books

I dont want to lose to much sleep, but WOW this is over whelming and delirious SWEET

thanks for this also interesting books about SMPS (switch mode power supplies) and tubes but this kind of books must actually filed by "Power Supplies" respective "Valve/Tubes", not by "Solid State".
Next time I will start a new thread regarded a overview of printed and online magazines arround the world like MJ, TAA and tube CAD journal, and an additional thread about the articles regarded distortion reduction by audio amplifiers in the JAES

Burr Brown had one- "operational amplifiers implementations of theoretical functions" A bigger picture of what goes on than a how to book. National Semi had the "Audio/Radio Handbook" My copy shows 1980 however the RIAA curves inside are wrong.

Hi tiefbassuebertr,

---Therefore the website was closed:---

Department closed.

Only some pages of the website have been closed.

But some other pages have to appear to complement Self's last book "Small signal audio design", one of them is already available :

Discrete design: More on 2-transistor shunt-feedback amplifiers

Both "Small signal audio design" and the the fifth edition of
"The audio power amplifier design handbook" (a lot of entirely new material added to the 4th edition) must be mentionned in any thread like the current one. Even if you do not share the author's philosophy, you'll certainly learn a lot of things reading them.

Among many others, two fascinating circuits discussed in "Small signal" are worth of new dedicated threads :
- the Marcel van de Gevel RIAA preamp.
- the Schlotzaur buffer (published in France about 1985, I "reinvented" with the addition of a current mirrror, some years ago).

I have and greatly respect Douglas Self's Small Signal Audio Design and his Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook. They are a wealth of information, sound electronic theories, and practical approaches to designing and building DIY audio gear.

Of course, if you don't know what year it is and preach audiophile/subjectivist scripture, these books may be irritating.

TI Unitrode - Magnetics Design Handbook
2001 Magnetics Design Handbook - MAG100A
The last link there is a zipfile... I own a hardcopy.
Some way to get this real book free, I just don't remember the procedure.

TI still prints a real 7400 series logic book, twenty bucks or something...
Maybe not the best 7400 logic book ever, but still in print counts...
What, -TEN CENTS-, when did that happen???

Also free pdf. http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/scyd013b/scyd013b.pdf

blogger here shows pics http://embedded-lab.com/blog/?p=3629
Apparently the hardcopy version is dated 1988. Substantially thicker
than the pocket edition 2007, which I linked you as the free pdf.

The Unitrode PDFs seem to be missing important chapters from the printed book.
But, they have mysteriously thrown in an extra chapter on Magnetic amplifiers
that does not appear in the printed version.

Missing stuff: Eddy currents in windings, equivalent magnetic circuits, leakage
inductance, coupled filter inductors for improve, fractional turns, winding data.
about the whole last third of this book, where'd it go?

If I ever run into Pete, I should give to him for scanning those missing chapters.

----

DoH! my bad... Can't leach everything with "single compressed zipfile" at the end,
but they still give every chapter as individual links. Nothing missing done that way.
You still want the big zipfile for extra mag amps chapter, though it looks like it may
have been ripped from a different Unitrode book. Different author extra chapter...
This guy I think: http://powerelectronics.com/mag/509PET25.pdf

You can learn more about my book "Designing Audio Power Amplifiers" on the thread here titled "Bob Cordell's Power Amplifier Book". There has been quite a bit of discussion on it since it came out one year ago.

You can also learn more about it on my web site at CordellAudio.com - Home, where you will find the detailed Table of Contents and may more elements describing the book. There is also a link there to the Amazon page for the book.

There are two chapters in the book devoted to using SPICE for power amplifiers design, including the subject of how to create transistor models from ordinary test equipment you probably already have. On my website there are many ready-to-run simulations of amplifiers described in the book, along with some good audio transistor models. There is also a simple step-by-step approach to getting LTspice up and running for you in about 10 minutes.

There are also 5 chapters devoted to class D amplifier design.

Finally, there is a book review of it in Vol 1 of Jan Didden's Linear Audio.

Cheers,
Bob
