Default Pioneer A-60 fault

Hi everybody I have a small (?) problem with my wonderfull A-60
The problem is that about 40 minutes to 1 hour of playing it cutts off the speakears relay, everything else is powered but no connection to the speakers.
Can someone give me a hint were to look ?
I have the service manual
I have seached the forum and found nothing about this amp.
Thanks
Ric

This is usually caused by DC on the speaker output. If you or another abliging soul could post a schematic maybe one the smart guys on the list could posit a possible cure...

find the pins on the speaker relay that have the input signal on them.
Check the DC output offset voltage while the amp is cold, again after 15 minutes of warm up time and finally after it has shut down.

Might be more simple than that with any luck... check for dry joints on any power transistors/regulators that run hot. Had that with a Pioneer A80 years ago.

If it is a DC fault you need to determine which channel is duff. You can connect an LED across a bridge rectifier (one for each channel) together with appropriate limiting resistor and connect to output (before the relay) and ground. Any DC fault of either polarity will illuminate the LED on the duff channel.
If it's not a dry joint then B-E junctions going intermitent open circuit are favourite

Thanks to all
I have the service manual but thanks for the offer.
What makes me think is that it never gets hot, there are lots of ventilation holes and it only get slightly warm
Will check for dry joint for start and go on from there.
Thanks again
Ric
