NTE makes an NTE174 which is described as a germanium TV horizontal damper diode.
It's rated at 270 volts and 10 amps and is in a TO-66 case. NTE's parts are notorious for their poor quality so I've been trying to find out what original germanium devices the 174 was intended to be a replacement for. I've spent hours searching the web and haven't come up with anything. Thanks! se |

All the years I worked in a TV shop, I don't ever recall a germanium critter as a damper
![]() NTE is also unapologetically hideously overpriced for their wares. I mean who in their right mind would pay $3 for a $0.03 1N4007? Cheers! |
