Just got one real cheap...anyone know anything about it? I have read that there were only about 200 sold, since they cost the equivalent of an average Automobile in 1974.
I didn't know Infinity did anything but speakers. Apparently at one time they built other components. This preamp's matched amp was probably one of the first Class D amps...but its the preamp that got all the rave... This thing is going to get a little more critical listening...actually sounds quite nice.

I seem to remember Infinity showing some valve or hybrid gear at the Harrogate international festival of sound back around 1980... I never heard anything more about this equipment, may have been a prototype?

It actually was a production unit.
I bought it for $50, and sold in on Fleabay to a collector in Italy for $500. Not bad...It actually sounded quite good for being 40 years old
