Hi, Why do most HEXFET amplifiers use IRFP240/9240 ?
Using matched pairs like IRF540/9540 isn't better ?

They are pretty cheap too.

Personally I use IRFP250 and IRFP9240.
I can get the IRFP250's for £1-50 and the IRFP9240's for £2-50 and that is one off prices !

how much would IRF540/9540 cost thr ?

I cant get them through my suplliers.

My reciept from the local surplus shop shows I paid $1.99 each..
For both 940 and 9540.... I was actually looking for 610/9610s,
but you take what you can get when you find it cheap...

i need these transistors(IRFP240/9240) for a clone of the firstwatt F2 amp.
i am not able to find them in mumbai, were the ones you got of good quality?
what project did you use them in?
any idea where one can find them in either mumbai or delhi?

Hi,

i purchased them for CHAN Nmos 200 watts amplifier. thought i have not started making the amp, i got them easily in local mkt. i am pretty sure you will get them in mumbai, just search a little.

greetings everyone i had the same problem finding hexfets
to build anthony holtons av 1000 av 800 .in delhi in bhagirath palace
KHANDELWAL ELECTRONICS has every type of mosfet hexfet
st brand and irf 460 irf 240 irf9240 irf 9610 and very cheap
IRF 240 IRF9240 90rupees a pair
for 500 watt legend amplifier instead of irf240 used irf250 30 rupees
each.
