Default need advice - how to test FETs

hi ,everyone can u help me please !
i have 2 pairs of irfp9240/irfp240 how can i test them?

in other words how can i test FET devices

thank a lot for requesting!

I would build a small circuit to test them in.

If your worried the FET's are blown then they usually go short between source and drain.

Normal method is to make use of the fact that Mosfets will hold a gate charge and thus stay turned on without anything connected to the gate.

Following is for N channel FETs, reverse for P channel

Using a multimeter on diode setting, first connect the common (black) lead to the source and the red to the gate. There should be no continuity. Then move the red lead to the drain and you should read a short circuit or close to because the device should be turned hard on.

Then reverse the multimeter leads and connect the black to the gate and the red to the source, this will remove the gate charge and turn the device off. Go back to red on drain and black on source and verify that there is no longer continuity.

You need to make sure you don't touch any of the legs other than with the multimeter because even stray electric fields conducted through your body can be enough to turn mosfets on.

i have test them and every thing it's OK with them!

nigelwright7557- told to build a small circuit to test them ,what kind of circuit you propose to build?

P.S.

if i have turned on Fet device an after i'll introduce it in schematics can i damage to it?
