there exists a circuit with 3transistors per rail to stabilize from 45 volts to 29 i smell lm 317-337 replacement any comments ????

This is interesting.... as we help you and you give us that gift..the chance to see the equipment inside.... you know.... two way gifts flowing...image from you to us..and schematic from us to you. hehehehe. Cheers.... this is a Brazilian food... called Feijoada. Black beans, condimented with burned garlic, salt, portuguese sausage, fat from pig (bacon) and jerked beef.... a slave food that we appreciate a lot together spinach (with greek Olive oil) and white rice.... also oranges in slices or orange juice goes fine together. I wish you health together Maria and your little Sakis that will be comming very soon. Carlos

Sometimes I do not know what is in the head of posters. I hear that people have too much sun on head can make BRAIN cooking and they start have hallucinations. --- sakis 3 Transistors to regulate down from 45V to 29V .. sure it can be done. Even by using cascaded two LM337 Search forum, you may find such low noise regulators.. 45 Volt -> LM317 -> ->LM317 29 Volt /linie your audio friend

since upgrades and repairs is something we doo every day in my shop and also if possible we like to make wquipment as better is possible there is a chance to repair the amplifier by simply changing a 2SA945 that was shorted and keep the totaly 6 transistor /2zener/few resistor and caps that will provide +28.5 and - 29.6 rails .... the question was that if a pair of lm317-337 will provide more clean and more acurate rails of exactly 29.0 volts which i find not really importand then the question is if the peower is cleaner through that and secondary more acurate easy now LIne up ..... im not 15.... i am 43 and i am dealing with electronics since i was a kid so let us make this post ...usefull amlifiers i make worked for 100 years .... so i consider my shelf a higly skilled technician <<<< i have solid proof of that >>>>

Hi friends
LM317-337, can be used with safe if Vo-Vi<=40V. In your case Saki, 45-29=16V it is a very safe difference. The issue with LM317-337 it is that their output it is clean, up to 18V. Above 18V, 317-337 presents signifficant ripple. For eliminating the ripple, a transistor (BD139-140) must be connected (common base configuration) in their output as a constant current source.
