Default want to make a attenuator

I have two 2x 6 Elna switches that i wonder if I can use as an attenuator. Since I have two of them it could have 36 positions (6x6). Anyone familiar with this?

John Broskie from tubecad has a stepped attenuator with two switches: coarse and fine...maybe you can get some inspiration from him. Here is the link
