Has anyone seen, experienced or owned a MM Electronics Paice amp (400w)? They have two power supplies, two circuit boards, ie each side can perform independently from the other and are built like tanks.

I've never owned one but they were common in small PA systems in the mid seventies, and the MM tag earned them the 'Mickey Mouse' nickname. Theres some more information about them here:

built like tanks and that one has seen a lot of battle damage.
To be honest i'd be inclined to gut it and put something newer in the box. |

Yes, that one has seen action. We liked them in old PAs for flexibility - one amp blows, you can mono the two sides with different inputs. Thanks for all the replies.
If you think thats a clunker, you should see the DC300a I just brought for £40. lol |

Hi Folks,
i have here a Amp (MM-Electronics) and i have a blown-up component in the left-lower-side of the Driver-Board. (see the Picture at http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/52296793.jpg/) @ burningbushhifi Can you make a Detail-Picture of your Amp Driver-Board please ? So i can figure out what kind of thisg this is ? Maybe a resistor ? (it goes to GND i think) Thanks a lot Last edited by BIT2PA; 6th July 2011 at 02:54 PM. |
