brother of quasi /2SC3284

i found in the greek market 29 pcs of very original 2sc3284....150V 14A 125W 60mhz .....

since i connot find a complementary pair i was thinking to built a brother of quasi ....

any opinion ????

of course i know which is the number of the coplementary pair ..... only its not available in original and/or the same brand quality
thats why i am looking to built a quasi that requires only Npn transitors .....

I think your 3284 will suit the BJT quasi well.
2pair on +-50Vdc will drive 8ohm.
3 or 4pair will drive 4 to 8ohm.

If you lift the supply to +-57Vdc it will probably need 3pair for 8ohm duty. I wonder if 5pair could do 4ohm duty?

this what i thought also more or less ....

the only think is that i have really high expectations from these transistors ..... its the real japanese product ( it has been in stock in the particular company together with many others since the 80's)

since i had the ability to construct many amps with just a pair of transitors and 35+35 rails i can tell you this :

from all i ver made some of them cheap versions with cheap transistors some of them with very expensive ..... but between the same others parts and same pcb ...the best i ve heard was the 2SA1302-3281 ORIGINAL TOSHIBAS ....

i remember the burmester 850 and the yamaha ax550 where the toshiba 1302/3281 were used...............
they are still available from magnatec.

it cannot be the same transistor ..... i good quality fake that is possible ....

The NAIM NAP140/250, NCC200 and NicAmp 135 family of amps are quasi amps and my be worth investigating.

i lay my hands in some original stock of various transistors but they cannot be paired ..... meaning the brother of 3284 in the same quality , brand , and make ....simply can no longer be located ...

i even have mjw21194 but the 193 pair of the same make etch etch canot be located .....

so since i buy these transitors for nothing ....lets example this ....mjw 21194 will cost between 4-5 euros each in athens and the quality of it is really questionable

so if i can have the original transistor in the best of quality for 0.80 euro then i need to built quasi amps !!!!!

is too built amps that will be with average calculations .....IE no extreme designs , no extreme power levels ,and no extreme protection ....

56+56 rails, 3-4 pairs per board and the use will be light PA applications ....

simple to make ....end expecting from it 150 W give or take but needs to be kinda stable since is to be used in PA
