No opamp at all is better.
There are 2 advantages of opamps:
1. no DC shift
2. High efficiency
Since they are used with coupling caps the 1'st one is out.
Second one may be traded off for sound quality in power amps, or absolutely have no meaning in preamps since their power consumption are nothing against what power amps consume.
However, there is the 3'rd advantage: imaginable simplicity of design that is melting down as soon as you design something better than can be bought in the nearest store.
