my sr606 is running in bridge mode, left side, and it buzzes. my 808 is also running in bridge mode and it's quiet. could something be wrong with the 606? is it a ground problem? when i bought the amps they were in a rack and both amps had a 1 foot 12 gauge ground wire hooked to the chassis, i can't recall where these grounds were hooked to, but i'm not using them. should i be? could this be the problem with the buzz? i'm not using the ground on the 808 and it runs real quiet. also, are there any manuals for these amps? i have schematic for the 606, but could'nt find one for the 808. are the schematics the same? owners manual would be nice to know about these amps and the best way to use them. any help would be a blessing. thanks.

What happens when you run the SR 606 in stereo mode?
Do both sides buzz or is it just the left hand channel? When running in bridge mode the Left channel is connected via its feedback loop to the right hand channel. Make sure that the balanced input is connected correctly! Like you I have not found any documentation on the SR808. I currently have a SR707 that is very much apart after destroying the majority of the output mosfets! |

hookked up in stereo mode, i have no buzzing on the 606. the way i have it hooked up bridged is using one of the two inputs on the left side. am i suppossed to use both inputs on left side? i'm using the 606 to power two celestion sr1 full range speakers and the 808 to power two celestion sr2 subwoofers. when i had the amps run in stereo mode, it did'nt seem like there was enough power to push the 8 ohm celestion speaker cabinets. how would you hook this system up? i have a yamaha mc1604 mixer out to a 31 band eq out to a dbx compressor out to the celestion src-1 loudspeaker control system out to the 606 and 808 to the speakers using all balanced inputs and outputs. thanks for your response. dennis

The Celestion SR1 cabinets seem to be rated for 350w 8 ohm
The SR 606 should deliver about 390w per cabinet in stereo and about 700w per cabinet when bridged! Not sure about the output of the SR808 but the 707 would deliver over 1200w per bass cabinet when used in bridge mode. You say you are using the src1 controller does this not have a limiter built in for the SR1 top cabinets? If this is right then I would probably run the Mid tops in stereo with the SRc contoller and then take the 2 bass outputs and make a custom XLR lead using the stereo bass outputs- taking a + phase from one XLR and the -ve phase from the other, and common them in to a single XLR plug - run that into your compressor and then use that to control the bass SR808 amp. If you want to run the SR amps in bridge you should only use the left hand input and only one XLR lead. If you want to run the mid tops in mono bridge, then you should mono mix the mixer and use only one side of the crossover. |

Appreciate it very much if anyone can share a SR606 schematic. If this is not free, where can i buy it? I have this unit, with some of the parts missing, lying for more than a year now.
