Hi,
I have a Sumo Andromeda in rather tired appearance. It's the original version, with BJT outputs. Upon removing the cover, I discovered that the amplifier circuit board for one channel appears to be populated with largely film capacitors. The other channel, however, appears to have mostly ceramic disc capacitors. Given the age of the unit, and the circuit board oddity, I think I'd like to re-cap the boards. So, what's the collective wisdom for approaching a re-cap job, in terms of type of capacitor for the application? I'm open to fairly proscriptive advice, i.e., orange drops here, ____ film capacitors there, ceramics OK there. Thanks! |
