Default irfp250 application

i have a quite big ammount of IRFP250 mosfets that originally were ment to be parts of the LEGEND 4 amplifier that i tryied to construct some time ago .....

since this application didnt actually work i wonder if anyone can point to me any schematic that uses these devices presumably a quasi or anything similar ....

doesnt really have to be powerfull just working will do

thanks

Default thanks for your suggestion

but i will not construct anything from Bora in the feature

My applications have to be simple and debugged .My amplifiers in the feature might be abused so i dlike to have something constructed that doesnt ''leak " from anywhere

I will go for a balance between safety and performane Legend 4 amplifier could not provide me this and i am afraid the designs from the same designer might have similar issues IE might sound amazing but not ready to be abused if required .

also i am afraid that this is not only bora's way of design ...I ve seen other circuits here that have similar issues

if you require a defination of the word abuse i will be more than happy to explain

thank you very much

Sakis,
I have the genuine pleasure to suggest this balanced topology probed by Tanaka-san and other honorable Japanese designers.

Default Distorts a lot Lumba!... around 2 percent at 15 watts RMS

Have you built this Tanaka amplifier Lumba?

What have you done to reduce distortion?

Do you have a link or some paper about it?... any adress to help me to undertand the designer proposal...maybe he is saying 2 percent is not a bothering thing....he may be rigth.

Sorry Sakis... i was curious about this one.

regards,

Carlos

Carlos,
I`m sorry for being unclear, this is just a popular topology in Japan.
You could try to make the stages more linear by using cascodes, CFP and separate power supply for the input section

No problem as long as it is below 10%.

Default Do not worry Lumba..i have already reduced distortion

to 0.05%

So...will assemble and listen.... i am always searching for big magic..even knowing big magic does not exists..but this is the real fun... will never finish, as i will never find the one... it does not exist.

Speakers are the limiting factor.

regards,

Carlos
