Angry yamaha reciever

i have a yamaha htr 5930 that keeps shutting down for no reason. ive tried reseting it, and it still didnt help. i have nothing hooked up to now and it still shuts down or its going into stand by mode. i whould like some help if any body can help.

when you reset it, did it come up with PROT on the display? what it says to the right of the PROT tells you what's wrong with it. i don't have the manual here, but i think i can find out how to get it into protection bypass mode long enough to figure out what's wrong. in the meantime, check for shorted output devices and missing power supply rails. there should be 5 pairs of output devices along the bottom of the heat sink, and i'm almost sure you will find a pair of these shorted.
