No fuss and easy talk, here is the schematic, what do you think?

I think the schematics too small (hard to see).

Why an input buffer with an input impedance of 50K driving a differential with an input impedance of 100K? What good does the buffer do in that scenario?

It seems like folded-cascode amps are popping up a lot recently.

I wanted to ask the same question as kaos about the input buffer, and also:
  • Why load the output of the folded-cascode with a resistor to ground? Isn't that just a waste of gain? If the gain is too high, wouldn't it be better to send some local feedback back to the LTP?
  • The driver transistors are cascoded. Is this just to keep them within their SOA, or is it for reducing distortion?

I am not the designer of that amplifier, since it is not a big manufacturer who makes it there are no reviews or comparisons - so if one cannot compare it sound wise and the manufacturer has the full schematic available I asked about the design (not some is this Brand XXX amplifier good based on the casing looks).
