My promedia is dead. No light at control panel. I checked the voltage at control panel , I get 14 volts for yellow wire but i am getting 2 volts for green wire.
I don't know it's suppose to be like this or not. am I suppose to get 14 volts also for green wire? I opened both the sub and control panel. There is no light on control panel. So. I am little bit confused ,, is it the sub or the control panel which one is dead or defective. I would appreciate any help. I have pretty good at electronics, but don't know about this project where to start Please help !!! |

Hi mrfix90,
The input board should have +/-14V, so something is wrong if the green wire is the -14V wire. Let's start by isolating the problem. Unplug the thick wires carrying the high voltage rails from the power supply to the LF and both HF amps. Then we can troubleshoot just the input board and power supply. With the amp switched on, I will assume that you still have only +14V at this point (I'll just use voltages since the schematic you posted doesn't show wire colors) and not -14V. See if you have -V_HF which feeds -14V. If so, it should be a simple matter of repairing the discrete regulator creating the -14V. |

Well, does the LED measure OK with the diode test of a DMM? Is R529 3.3k? Do those parts have continuity with each other, +14V, and ground as the schematic shows? It's not that tough to get started.
If you don't have -14V, the LED being off isn't your only problem. Is the power supply delivering -14V? Is it delivering -V_HF? Take some initiative if you're "pretty good with electronics". This isn't a tough circuit to figure out, especially since I gave you all the schematics, and I already made some suggestions in my last post which you didn't report on. |
