Aww man, i turned my stereo on, and my subwoofer wasnt putting out sound.
the Hafler p500 that was powering it failed.
The amp turns on but no sound comes out, and the input led's dont show a signal comming in. i checked the dc offset and its fine, then i checked my bias on both channels at the fuses it was around 600ma max.
THEN it happened. one of my test leads fell and sparked while i was checking the bias.
now both channels show a very high bias current like possibly 1200ma. so immediately i turn it off. the fuses dont blow when i power the amp up.
But im afraid to turn it on and test further. the amp powers up. and the green light comes on as if its working, the protection relay to the speakers dosent trip bad. just no input signal and now the issue i caused when my test lead fell.
pulled out the multimeter and variac. just dont know where to start now.
getting +/- 85 volts and all.
