hey, someone ended up giving me a sony receiver that recently stopped working. since im bored, and have no money i decided to see what i can do with it. i beleive its a Sony STR DE695 or close to it, i dont have it here right now. the odd thing is i had powered it up with 1 speaker and hooked up an audio source to it, and no matter what input i select i dont get any output. if i put my ear up to the tweeter i hear normal hiss, that gets slightly louder when you turn the volume up, and also changes as you change inputs, and as expected its louder on phono yet i NEVER get any sound out of the receiver, its weird. i tried every channel and every input, nothing other then the normal low level hiss. any ideas? at first i thought it could be the chip that switches the inputs, yet it sounds like it is indeed switching.
