A kind fellow diy'er have justed my informed me, that a Hong Kong guy is selling non-authorized LYNX PCB clones on ebay;
http://cgi.ebay.com/Diy-LYNX-150-po...emQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262#ebayphotohosting
even though following disclaimer is stated on my site;
The LYNX circuit and PCB layout provided here is only for non-commercial diy build and use! You are allowed to make your own PCBs for personal use, but please accept that in that case I do not provide any support! You are not allowed to make and sell copies of the PCBs!
Direct link to my site with the LYNX disclaimer;

I know there are not much I can do about it, however in the future anyone who seeks support from me on LYNX matters has to provide documentation for, that their LYNX PCB's are the original from me.

:devilr:

Looks like he is selling Quasi's nmos 200 as well.

I had a look at all the (dozens) of pages of amplifiers on Ebay,
(to stay current) and it is amazing to see all the asian (HK , china)
clones of most of the diy amps on this site. I think this site
is being "mined" for circuit topology and boardwork to
produce a wide range of DIY kits. As bad as this is , they then
fill the BOM with substandard passives and suspect semi's.
(huge profit - DIY'er be damned :bawling: )

A note.. I have noticed a "surge" of downloads off of my "WWW"
from china, they download all of it , boardwork and all. It is
a shameless trend as they could manufacture original designs
and do this legit . :mad:

ostripper, just curious, why you have tons of copyrighted material (even the Lynx amp) on your site?

I guess for the same reason ACD has all those IP schema's
on his site.. as a service to the DIY community.

I had a big :mad: stink made about this over ESP's designs,
so I emailed Rod elliot and he replied that as long as his logo
was present and I wasn't trying to profit (make boards)or claim his designs as mine ... post away.

PS. I only have the lynx schema (24 downloads this month)
, so If anyone downloads it,
and likes it , hopefully ACD will sell another set of boards. :)

Thank you, sir. :)

I am glad most in our community have the "good spirit"
that you do. I am sure all of us use the good ideas that
they find around this site , but stop short of direct IP theft.

I'm sure your boards put a least a "little food on the table",
so respect and honour would dictate not infringing on this.
I'm surprised Mr. Elliot has not become irritated with all
the P3A designs(with boards) on DIYaudio , as he sells
PCB's also. He must have "good spirit "as well. :D

PS , I started my "site" because the "wiki" here was lacking,
now I exceed diy's wiki (sometimes weekly in hits) and
there is a LOT more material.

That's sad Jan.

I think the Chinese disregard for IP, and their general lack of business ethics, are a large part of what will prevent them from becoming a true world power.

As their wages rise, and the demand for cheap crap and faked goods diminishes -- outside their country -- they will need to reform their ideals to be considered legitimate contenders. They are a long ways from that point. They have a lot of growing up to do. The rest of the world will eventually tire of being China's R&D department.

And no, that rant is not limited to China. There are a few others.

I think the Chinese disregard for IP
I think we have to differentiate between "china's".
Taiwan makes excellent equiptment (ASUS mother boards ,Via)
and they do the proper licensing of western tech (intel - amd).
This has made them almost as big an electronics exporter as Japan.
S. korea also has gone down that same path. Every flat
screen in my house originates there.. :bigeyes:
So maybe this global downturn will change things , I .. for one
, am sick of buying walmart cheap stuff just to have to buy it
again 6 months later. I would rather shop the web to find
better products that cost twice as much and last for a decade. (EU products last for years)
Most americans do not feel this way , as walmart has seen growth lately, :mad: dispite of this.
I guess us americans want to perpetuate this " unholy alliance"
as the "big china" holds our bad debt. Only time (and spending
habits) will change any of this.
