Default Carver amp part info needed

I have a carver TFM-55x. A few parts burned up and I cannot determine the part numbers. Their designators are:
R451 and Q451

They are in the circuitry that goes to the front panel controls & meters.

Thanks!!!

noone knows? I had hoped carver amps would be easy to get information on...

The resistor is a 2W I think. The coating is just burned completly off, and the amp won't turn on. This is the only visible damage, and I really want sound back into my office

i don't have a service manual, but a 2hannel amp should have matching components in the other channel, unless these are power supply or protection components that the 2 channels share in common. meanwhile, i'll look for a schematic for you. chances are, you have other problems which aren't visible...

Not for this portion of the circuitry. This circuitry looks to be part of the controls for the front panel wattage meters and/or range switch. I'm not positive of that, but the wiring harness for those front panel items is close to those parts.

I also tested all of the outputs, no obvious failures (shorts). There are a few hot-spots on the PCB at what I am guessing are the drivers for the outputs, but I haven't tested them yet or looked very closely at that yet. I'm concentrating on the most obvious first.

Thanks

it could be one of the dropping resistors for the watt meters, if so it probably does have a twin. i tried looking for a schematic, but found mostly manuals at overinflated prices on e-slay. i'll keep looking, there's a couple more resources i can look into.

I've looked all around, there's no other resistors similar...Hope you can find a diagram!

Thanks!

I have a TFM45 manual but the part designators are not the same, no R451 or Q451. All four transistors on the meter board are 2SC1815. If there are four on your board and the other three are 2SC1815 it's a good bet the fried one is too. What is resistor R451 connected to, base, collector or emitter? Are there also two 4558 opamps on the board?

It's not on the front panel pcb. It's on the main amp board, but some of the wires that go to the front panel board are connected close to these parts on the pcb. I'd get some pics up for clarification, but I can't find any of my cameras!

If you're looking at the main amp board, it looks like a U shape, with the transformer in the middle of the U. These parts are on the upper left side of the U shape.

Went thru the manual, no U-shaped boards in the 45. Doesn't mean the circuitry isn't the same though. Get the pictures posted and we'll see what part of the circuitry we're talking about. What style of xsistor is it, TO-220, TO-92, etc?

Found someone on ebay who had bought a manual and was kind enough to check it for me.
Q451 is a NPN transistor 2SC2012
R451 is 470ohm 1W

They stated it was in the power supply section, so I guess it is either power regulation for the front panel, or was a coincidence that it was close to those front-panel wires.

Edited to fix q451 p/n
