what are good subs for these mosfets?

Would FQA7N80C be ok for the 2sk1058 and would FQA9P25 be ok for the 2sj162?

Not a substitute.

2SK1058 & 2SJ162 are lateral mosfets. The Fairchild Q-fets are most similar to hex-type devices and are vertical mosfets. Look at the transfer characteristic graph of both types and you will see a big difference of where the zero temperature coefficient operating point is located. This, and the fact that V-th of the Q-fets is a couple of volts higher rules them out as viable substitutes.

Exicon's are sold by Profusion in the U.K.

You can get the Renesas from MCM Electronics -- they say they're Hitachi -- perhaps they found some old stock.

The 2SK1058 and 2SJ162 are still actively manufactured.

j162 and k1058 are already subs! (of k135/j50)
