Default Help with E-mu soundcard and lousy crosstalk

I can't figure out how to configure PatchMix and/or my computer to get better crosstalk figures. I'm using Vista and E-mu 0404 PCI card. This is how it looks. It shouldn't be this bad, should it?

PatchMix has a set of configurations specifically for RightMark. They are named RMAA. Give them a shot.

input or output crosstalk?

loopback testing can mix the 2 cases

did you use any termination on the input? - input shorting plug should give the ideal crosstalk

any impedance between out and in will form a voltage divider with input's loaded impedance

onboard analog switches likely would have parasitic coupling C

another issue can be signal current from heavy load on the output causing V drop in common ground impedance the soundcard

TRS stereo plugs can also be limiting because of the common ground contact resistance - load current on one output channel will couple to the "silent" channel through the gnd contact Vdrop

a independent signal source can help - a portable mp3 player can be good for this

This is loopback, no load. I'm using the RMAA default in PatchMix. 24 bit and 96 kHz. I have to go to work now, but please give me some ideas of what's wrong.

So your EMU is working at 96KHz loopback? I thought the EMU drivers are allowing max 48KHz loopback?
