NAD 2155 power transformer.

Hi,

I don't have this this amp in front of me right now. I did a thorough forum search and the best I could find was a service manual for a 2100. I see it uses an EI-96 power transformer. I will be needing a transformer for the 2155.

An answer to either of the questions below would be very helpful.

a) Does anyone have the service manual for an NAD 2155?

b) Would an EI-96 power transformer work in a 2155?

c) Are there any recommended places to order what seems to be a chinese made power transformer? I'd also settle for someone who makes transformers to specification that comes highly recommended, but that's assuming I can find the specs for an EI-96, and assuming again that this is even the proper transformer.

The original owner had some sort of studio/shop that went out of business and I'm getting a ton of stuff, this was working fine but the transformer was taken for use in something else. They have a lot of stuff with parts taken out of it that I'm getting for nothing but the price of carrying it out and locking the door when I'm done, an offer I couldn't refuse.

Since i bought a 2155 recently with the transformer down, i would like to know wether you found the information you were looking for some time ago; did you manage to find the perfect match for your 2155 amplifier and should you have any recommandations for installing a new tranfsormer i would be very grateful!

i can have the service manual by Monday if you want and as about the original trafo there might be a thermal fuse bolted inside in the primary side that you may be able to bypass .

Obviously you will need to add some proper fusing after that

Hello, thank you Sakis, i finally found the service manual on the internet (but i forgot the file on my office's pc...) for the fuse you are talking about, should you have a picture showing where it is? Should you have any idea of an actual good replacement transfo?
I still didn't receive the amp yet but i wish to be ready when it arrives :-)

in Greece you may order any transformer as long as you know the windings for almost nothing ... a 200W toroidal will cost something like 25 Euros ... excellent quality ISO certified and custom made is also welcome ..

I presume that your probably far away from where i live ha ha ha ...

will see the schematic by Monday and let you know
