Audio [Radio] Amplifier Ideas Needed
dear DIYAudio forum,
i design single-device radios: they must amplify RF and AF. the sensitive 16-ohm phones [transformed to 80k-ohms maximum] only need 1 mW. my goal is maximum power. i have used J310 and MPSA18... triodes too [6GK5]. does anyone have any other transistor suggestions? i may try VN10KM or IRF630. any higher hfe BJT? can i drive 16-ohms directly with decent power? equations suggest that BJT power gain is higher than MOSFET unless an emitter resistor is used to increase input impedance for RF. your thoughts appreciated, phil |
