2N3716/3792 are not as good as 2N3055/MJ2955. Beta linearity is no better and second breakdown makes them unattractive even at +/-30V supply (which the 3055 can do nicely). They were intended for low voltage regulators, not audio. You'd be just as well off with TIP41/42.

The 2N6259 is the 250W version of the "slower" variety of 2N3773. Bulletproof, but fT is less than 1 Mhz. There is no PNP, and they won't match well to anything out there so it's limited to quasi-comp designs. The old monster BGW amps used them. The catch is that because of the low fT, swtichoff is slow and crossover distortion can be quite high at high frequency. Not a problem for sub amps. Or for single-ended class A where the high dissipation capability is nice to have. I used them in one of Nelson Pass' old designs from the 70's and cranked up the power supply voltage (and power).
