Ho John, obviously you got something good going there. But let me ask: why use a unipolar power supply instead of a bipolar supply? It would save you the dreaded output capacitor...

So this is an integrated amplifier project that you wish to make? in a case like that old Sansui? Niiice...

Thanks!
I have a LOT going on at the moment and I will probably get back to this project later in the winter. It will be an integrated amp, with all the vintage bells and whistles - tone controls (bass, mid and treble), a phono preamp, either analog or fluorescent VU meters, etc.
The bugs haven't been worked out in the amp yet, still not sure if I want to run it class A or AB with a bit more power. The output cap doesn't bother me at all and the supply will stay single with the front end at the higher (50VDC) regulated voltage.
I want the case to match the Luxman receiver (as shown a few posts back) as closely as possible. Also on tap are a pair of high efficiency speakers to mate with these...
All I need is time
...
And money, of course

I'll be eagerly looking forward to your bass-n-mid-n-treble section. Its rare to see those done nicely.

An interesting addition might be a "bass tilt" control to work the difference between drum and bass guitar. Some older Pioneers had controls with a similar function but weren't variable controls.

P.S. Pancakes. I've not escaped unscathed. Now I must have pancakes.
