Good parts I'd definitely monkey with these!I'd leave the stk behind though. Those outputs and drivers are worth building something around for sure. Maybe use some new parts for input - 2SA940/C2240 for diff pair, 2SA1381/C3503 for Vas. |

Nothing new going on with this project but I feel the responsibility to share something with all you members in these tough times...
John's World Famous Pancakes: Enough for one BIG serving of 3 LARGE flapjacks. ![]() 1 - cup all purpose flour 1 - 1/2 cup evaporated milk + 1/2 cup water or 1 cup whole milk (not 1% or 2%) 1 - egg 3 - teaspoons baking powder (not baking soda) 1/2 - teaspoon salt 2 - tablespoons melted butter (butter, not margarine, sounds better) or bacon fat. Combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl - mix well. Batter should not be too thin but add milk to get correct consistency (experience is key here) Here's the important part: set aside for 10-20 minutes at room temperature. Heat non-stick pan to medium-hot (water drops will bounce around on the surface when it's hot enough). Give the batter a quick stir and pour or scoop into the pan. When large bubble rise to the surface and break and when the edge looks "dry" flip the pancake. Let cook an equal time on this side then remove from the pan and serve with butter and real Canadian maple syrup (ok, I use Aunt Jemima original 'cause I like it better and it's cheaper) These are great, fluffy, easy to build and cost very little but are filling and satisfying. Fuel for your next project! |

Uhhh
Funny that you mentioned that in this particular post. I was visiting my girl and decided to make some pancakes (first time since 1999 hehe) quick search on the net brought almost the same recipe but without some of your refinements. We like them thin and a little "burned" and then rolled up with plum jam or mix of farmer cheese with sugar (or so) but your way sounds yummi and I'll try it Friday. Thanks for sharing! Regards, L |

Hi limono, No problem, I hope you like them. Recently I was accused of not making a worthwhile contribution to the community...I've now rectified this! I like mine thicker, smeared with butter and swimming in syrup. |

Word of caution about pancakes: mix them only long enough so that you do not see white flour. There will be lumps, but they will disappear. Any more mixing and you are contributing to excess gluten formation.
Gluten is what makes breads, pizza, rolls, etc.

Hi Dan,
Where have you been? Long time no see. ![]() I've been very busy lately so not much time for the project. I'm still in the planning stage. I have all of the parts for the amp and the power supply, just need time to put them all together. I want to give the case a vintage look too. Similar to this: With the full wrap around wood and the aluminum face. That Pioneer fluoro VU meter, a selector switch and a master volume control. What do you think? Throw in some bass and treble control too? |
