2SB552 & 2SD552 Applications
Ciao e tutti!
Genuine Toshi. 2SB552 & 2SD552 complimentary
I used to use these devices extensively consequently I have a large number of them lazily sitting round on heatsinks & in packs just gathering dust.
Anybody know of a really nice power-amp that I could build to use them up?

Beta of those Toshiba TO3's already starts to drop like a fly at a low collector output current level, much earlier than Motorola TO3 numbers.
Means any design with a triple darlington output stage, and plenty power devices in parallel.
Re: 57 years oldtimer .....
you are right
My problem was that I searched for SB552
and not 2SB552

I can not find those
Here you go lineup

The devices I have are mounted on large heatsinks. There is 15 of each per heatsink used to drive 3 motors swinginging them between +/- 40VDC from a 20A supply.
The file seems to be too big to upload so here is a link to the circuit: http://snipurl.com/b80pr
I don't know how well the circuit would work as an audio amp. Needs abit of d.c. protection
