Need some help :
I've recently purchased a Technics SU7300 amp. Was VERY impressed with the sound but as the amp gets slightly hot distortion creeps in. Could anyone here give some advice as to what to look for ? Should I replace all caps ? Could transistors be "tired" ? This is a 30 year old amp but looks in mint condition inside out. My experience is in valve recording studio equipment and I know little about transistors but I am eager to learn... |

such an old unit ( with quite nice specs i'd say )
i would go for a complete rebuilt recaping and posible re-resistoring is almost a fact ..... you may wana take a look at this vintage amplifier repair/upgrade manual but of course this will requier an ammount of skills to make .... then again your trouble can be a combination of things since the unit is that old .... very good cleaning and recaping is the first thing you do ....then we will see
