See attchment.
R1 is one 'rated resistor'. Rated 0.25 Watt. Which can be changed in setting.
R2 is normal resistor. No power rating.
Both are 100 Ohm and at 10 Volt will flow 100 mA (10V/100ohm) in each.
So power in each resistor will be 10V x 0.1A = 1 Watt
What happens in MultiSim spice simulator is.
1. first Ampmeter will show 200 mA
2. after a short while, R1 will burn and be destroyed
with a visually broken resistor body
3. the Ampmeter will show 100 mA, until Turn OFF
This feature can tell where you need to put in a resistor with higher power rating.
If you use rated variants of components in library.
