I think that's from late eighties ;
there was so called Apex series - amp & preamp ;

I'm primary interested in preamp article ;
I have just schematics , and tiny fragment of text .

it was comprised of MC stage , MM stage , tone stage and line stage .

PSU was made of repetitive LM317 .
curiosity was that - in best iteration , main semis (except few in MC stage)were BD243 and BD244 .

in case that someone is willing to hit me with both ( preamp and amp ) articles ........ I'll be grumpy all day long
