Help With A 500 Watt subwoofer and a 1000 amp

one question guys : I have A SSL 500 WATT Subwoofer and im thinking to buy a 1000 sony xplod amplifier 2 chan my question is will it work fine or will it b to muchh watt for just one subwoofer? or maybe you can tell me wch amp will work fine with that subwoofer

we need the info.
1000W into what load or is it 500+500W into two loads?
What is the speaker power capability? continuous/ peak/ music power? What is it's impedance?
What cabinet does the driver use?
Does it need an equalised signal?

O0ok heres all i have right now

600W Amp 4/3 channel Sony xplod
4 speakers sony xplod: front 190W , Rear 270W (Im Not Sure of whats the peak power but thats what the box says)
Subwoofer: SSL 500W
Equalizer: SSL S4EQ

right now im using the 4 channels, 3 for speakers and 1 for the subwoofer and tats why im thinking to buy a another amp for my subwoofer cuz i think using the 4 channels will damage my 600w amp i have the cables and everything i just need to know wuts better for my subwoofer. I hope this is wat are you asking for so you can help me out wiht my situation
