Hi there,
anybody have any ideas on how to get to the backlight on a Marantz MR 250L amplifier. It has a blue illumination but mine has gone There is no illumination at all apart from the red LED that tells you when receiving stereo from tuner section. I think it is a fuse but it seems so difficult to get to anything behind the front panel. Thank you. |

Is it like this, not that I have ever seen one. If so it's a careful, methodical strip down. Most probably a bulb, they are probably in series.

A lot of Jap gear like this should have the bulbs in sockets for replacement. Getting the correct ones may be a problem, you will have to see what is in there first.
If it is a stripdown, it's just a case of being carefull. Front off, carefully removing any knobs etc ( check for grub screws first ) and keeping a note of any different screw types. Stuff like this usually comes apart a treat and is a good opertunity to clean it all up, the faceplate behind the glass etc. Good luck
