Need some rec's for nominal power, nominal cost amps

I will be building an active filter loudspeaker system. I would like to build all the amplifiers being used. This in total is six amps. Are there any designs that might be worthy at a fair price?

I would need no more than 60 watts per channel.

If you dont need big power then the chip amps or gain clones are an afternoon project and you get very good protection circuitry.
