I am wanting to use the TDA1518BQ in an amplifier circuit and have purchased several of these for prototyping. I followed the BTL example application in the PDF file but with no success. The IC heats up rapidly as soon as I have applied power to it and fails. I have had other mates look at the circuit I am using and they have all agreed that it is exactly the same as the one in Philips example. IT IS SO SIMPLE THAT NOTHING COULD GO WRONG - OR CAN IT? It is operating on 12VDC has an 8 ohm speaker load (piezo horn) and other than that is just the IC.
