Powering Two Cabinets

Just out of curiosity, without getting into details:
Can you use a cable splitter from your speaker output on your amp to power 2 cabinets, assuming the impedance is correct?

Provided your amp can handle it. If you were to parallel two 8 ohm speakers, you would have the amp driving a 4 ohm load. Don't even think about it with 4 ohm speakers.

Generally though it isn't recommended, certainly not with a domestic amp.

presuming that your speakers are 8 ohms and your amplifier can handle this you have no problem at all doing this .....BUT there is a lot of limitations ....

---your amp will be stressed for sure
---expect tempereture to rize ( seriously )
---if you also need full power of the amp is even more stress ( casual listening might be ok )
---expect your amp to "end very quickly" (powerwise )
---aditional ventilation may be needed
----thermal or other protection easilly activated

on the ther hand there are a lot of amps that happily will drive 4OHMS and even less ....but there we are talking about comercial high power professional amps....

Actually, it won't matter much if your volume is low.
Trying to get full power to both is a real problem.
