Bridge Mono a stereo amplifier with balanced outputs

If you have a balanced output from a source(microphone preamp, mixer, balanced preamplifier), then the one signal is out of phase
with the other signal and both referenced to ground.

The easiest way to bridge an amplifier that doesn't have a bridge
switch is to drive the two inputs with identical but out of phase
signals.

So putting the two together means that the preamplifier will be
operating in unbalanced mode, but the opposite phase signals
will then drive the amplifier in bridge mode if the speaker is
placed across the two positive terminals. Or dual mono mode
with each speaker bring driven out of phase with each other.
This could place less stress on an amplifier with a shared power
supply since each output would draw off the opposite DC rail
at the same time.

Am I understanding the electrical properties associated with
balanced outputs and the ability to bridge an amplifier?
