Default Power amp schematic

I've allways wanted to build a good Class A amplifier, but I have never had the time or the resources. ANyways now I have the ability to make one from scratch including circuit boards. I was wondering if anyone could recomend and give a schematic for a hi-fi amplifier somwhere around 100W. Integrated or Power amp is ok. My experience with audio and electronics is high from working in a studio, however brand names, models, and such mean very little to me. I do know that the Mark Levinson I heard at one point in time was amazing. Along with a couple of Krells and a lessor Knakamichi PA-7. Any help I could get would be nice. Thanks in advance.

Hello, DeepT . Class A at 100 watts is a lot of $$$ and
heat, good for winter .

Check this out:

http://24.214.225.177/pdf1/Electroni...cts/Audio_amp/

Look over/download to your hearts content, the best amps
(in my opinion) for 100W are 1. symasym (similar to ampslab.com
bi120) 2. Leach amp (designed in georgia,USA ,very reliable)
and 3. Quasi NMOS amps (based on doug self's "blameless",look in [diyaudio])
book is here:
http://24.214.225.177/pdf1/Electroni...s_engineering/
scroll down to Self ,D. -a must read ,as most commercial amp/
receiver's are based on self's design.
If you must have class A [audio amp] section has that too.
good luck..OS

Just for your info, the Nakamichi PA-7 is not a Class A amp.....
Original bias setting is 40 mA across the emittor resistors (0.33R)

have a look at the two Krell Klone threads.
Krell KSA 100mkII Clone for 100W of ClassA into 8r0
and
Krell KSA 50 pcb
for 50W of ClassA into 8r0.

Both of these amps will operate in ClassAB when the current demanded by the load is greater than the ClassA limit.
KSA100 goes to about 400W into 2r0
and
KSA50 goes to about 200W into 2r0.

Creating a Klone can be done for about a quarter of the cost of buying new, but even that is still very expensive and bulky and heavy and hot compared to a ClassAB amplifier.
