what is the exact problem with the device ?????
there is a couple of tips i can give you specifickly for the nakamichi

Hi, thanks, the audio out is distorted beyond belief, sounds as if the bias on some of the transistors is lost and the signal is all that is biasing them on. It has not been used in a long time and I would assume that it needs to be recapped.

Thanks, I was missing a browser plug in for .pdf's got it now!
Must have accidentally removed it during the last cleanup.

If you have those tips written up I would like to read them, just cut and paste them here. Otherwise, I don't want to trouble you to write them.
