Hi,
I just got a technics SA-400 for $15 at a yard sale. Problem is, the right channel will distort if I turn up the volume more than just the quietest level. It sounds clean when it's super quiet though. I ordered new darlington power packs (STK-0050 to replace the STK-0040's it came with) working on the assumption that it's a problem in the output stage. Can I just solder the new powerpacks in or do I need to be careful of other considerations? Am I even on the right track here? Thanks! Andrew |
