Bridging vs. monoblocks

I would like to know if there are any drawbacks to bridging or bootstraping in power amplifiers, specifically Hafler 220 amps.
I know there are always sacrifices to be made.
Are there comprimises in sonics or stability in bridging versus using straight up monoblocks??
