Hi all,
Wish to know if anyone have experience listening with this very compact amp port usually used to amplify ipods/mp3s and the like, its the sansui ion2. Just wonder and fascinated by the very natural sound the small device is making. It sounds like the performer is singing just in front of you,by the way that's the reason why i noticed how it sounds even from the distance. The instruments are so clear and natural sounding not sure though if you can call it a hi-fi. I wish is to get some info from anyone who have heared the small device for the reason that i feel its sooo expensive for its size but i'm thinking of buying it and i dont want to jump on the water immediately. Could it have been engineered to sound that way with its very compact size?? Will appreciate any feedback! Rgds |

Hi,
I don't understand why you have to say it to be cheap and simple design, perhaps you can say something more substance in order to get further idea. The amp definitely is not cheap, but if it's really simple accdg to your knowledge.. i could say the designer has made a great job to make it simple yet so natural sounding! Managed to find photo of the unit, anyone??? Regards |

Hi , You are right. Sansui Ion2 does sound impressive for its size.
Compare to the similar offer from BOSE which cost more than S$600 . The asking price of S$299 seem to be reasonable for Ion2. I am considering to get one . how about u ? |

hi,
my own view, probably its quite low efficiency type amp. this can't be perform well when you add good speaker. as it is not class A so can't be very good. may be they made it own speaker set with low power speaker system. i think you should think twice. does they used any sub amp? best regards michael |

Yes I actually asked the salesperson (cant halp it) about the sub which is located at the bottom- though that time the full specs was not available for me to see. The mini amp is designed only for room audio, possible it's enginnered to sound that way, sound so clear and vocal is outstanding (just like performing in the very same room!). Though believe not designed for bigger speakers.
Regards. |
