Default Replacement part for MC2100

Hi,

Anyone have an idea of what I can use to replace the bias diode part no. 070-046 in the MC2100 driver board?

Regards.

I removed the bias diode from the PCB and measured its resistance while holding it very close to a hot soldering iron and watched the resistance go down as the temp went up - I suspected mine was causing the left channel PA transistors to heat up, but now that the amp is working I have to conclude that the diode is ok.

No one seems to know what this part can be replaced with - may have to contact Mcintosh to find one. If you find the part id please let me know, too ; I'm sure that lots of other folks are also interested

thanks, Grant

You can try MZ2361 from Motorola which is still available. It is listed as a replacement in Mcintosh's semiconductor replacement manual. Hope this helps.
