What kind of meters do you have in mind ?
Electronic with LEDs, Digital displays or old times analog meters ?

Then it is just to place a shunt resistor across the meter inputs.
do you have any info on the meters you want to use ?

something like this should work. R1+R2 should total at least 20k or so. you could make R2 a 1k resistor, and R1 a 50k or 100k pot to make it adjustable.

it's something you'll have to figure out. different meter movements have different internal resistances. that and your amp output power determine the resistor ratio you would use. some meter movements also have internal shunts or dropping resistors. it's not something you can just drop resistor values into.

If you (or anyone) decide to use LEDs, the old Harmon Kardon Citation 16 meters were pretty cool. The service manual has complete schematics and even a separate PCB layout for them.
I plan to build that one day. I think all that info is on Jan's website. (I'm too lazy to look, but I'll bet it's there.) ..Todd
