I hv one old Philips cd player CD-880 with optical socket totally broken in transport. I hv another sony minidisc player with coaxial input.
I am left with two options. 1) Either get optical socket & get it working. 2) Get optical to coaxial adaptor. Now i will like to check the coaxial output of my cd player. So that i can confirm that there is no other fault in the cd player. How to do so? |

most recent receivers (i.e. from about 2000 to present) have coaxial inputs. all you need to connect them is 50 or 75 ohm cable with RCA plugs on the ends. a well made video (vcr or dvd composite) cable should work well enough for testing.
