Cable for audio balanced line driver (drv134 )

Anyone have experience with the type of cable that needs to be used between a DRV134 and a INA134 when we want to transmit over long distance (200m)?

In the chip specifications, they suggest the Belden 8451 or 9452 cable. It is a 22 AWG twisted and shielded pair with about 45 ohms impedance. Can we use other type of cable with good results? I would like to use cat 5e cable that has 100 or 120 ohm impedance.

If you parallel a couple strands of cat5e cable the impedance will be cut in half. If you already have the cat5e cable why not try it out and see how it works. 200m is a pretty long run.

Hi,
presumably if both ends of the cable are terminated correctly then the actual cable impedance does not matter.

One could use 45/50ohm (Coax) or 75ohm (coax) or 110ohm (UTP) and choose the correct termination values.
